
Esther is a seasoned central banker and financial markets specialist with over 32 years of experience in monetary operations, foreign exchange reserve management, financial risk management and financial sector oversight. She currently serves as Director of Financial Markets at the Reserve Bank of Malawi.
Throughout her career at the Reserve Bank, she has held various positions in the Economic Policy and Research Department, Foreign Flows Monitoring and Administration. She has extensive expertise in financial market operations, policy implementation, global market analysis, regulatory oversight, project management and economic analysis.
Esther plays a key role in the management of Malawi’s financial markets and foreign exchange reserves, contributing to the stability and development of the country’s financial sector.
She holds a Master of Science in Economics from the University of Birmingham, United Kingdom, and a Bachelor of Social Science in Economics from the University of Malawi. She is also a certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM) accredited by the Global Association of Risk Professionals.
