Fredrick Chanza
Managing Director
Fredrick Chanza
Fredrick Chanza is the Managing Director of the Export Development Fund, bringing over 15 years of expertise in public finance, development finance, and regional economic integration. He has led EDF through transformative initiatives in trade finance, industrial park development, and the creation of structured markets for precious minerals.
His leadership has been key in operationalizing the national gold and gemstone markets and strengthening Malawi’s engagement in continental trade platforms such as the Intra-Africa Trade Forum. Fredrick’s strategic direction continues to shape EDF’s role in catalysing inclusive economic growth and export competitiveness.
He holds an MSc in Energy Economics (with distinction) from the University of Dundee and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Malawi. Widely respected for his expertise in economic analysis, deal structuring, and public policy, Fredrick has contributed to several national and international publications on fiscal policy and resource management.
Edward Mtulutsa
Chief Credit and Investment Officer
Edward Mtulutsa
Edward Mtulutsa serves as the Chief Credit and Investment Officer at EDF. He joined EDF in 2015 as Head of Operations, later serving as Head of Credit and Lending from 2017 to 2020.
Edward’s leadership is grounded in over two decades of experience in the financial services sector, where he has held senior roles in credit, operations, and investment management. His deep expertise in financial analysis, risk mitigation, and client relationship management enables him to provide strategic guidance that supports EDF’s mission of driving inclusive economic growth through innovative financing solutions.
He holds a Master’s degree in Finance and Control and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). Edward’s approach is defined by integrity, analytical rigor, and a strong commitment to sustainable business growth.
Inglis Macrester Nyamilandu

Inglis Macrester Nyamilandu
Inglis Macrester Nyamilandu serves as Acting Chief Operating Officer at EDF, bringing over 15 years of leadership experience in finance and development. He is a seasoned specialist in operational strategy, credit risk management, and innovative financial solutions.
Throughout his career, Inglis has successfully led strategic initiatives and developed impactful financial products that support inclusive growth and export competitiveness. His approach is defined by a commitment to operational excellence, innovation, and sustainable development.
He holds dual Master’s degrees in Banking Practice and Project Management, along with advanced certifications in Innovative Finance and Impact Investing.
