Mark Mikwamba has over 23 years of experience in Malawi’s financial services sector, with a strong foundation in investment management, insurance, and corporate finance. He has led major institutions including Old Mutual Investment Group Malawi Limited, where he managed portfolios exceeding USD 1 billion and introduced investment products that supported key national projects.
Currently serving as Managing Director of Old Mutual Life Assurance Company (Malawi) Limited, Mark brings deep insight into financial markets, risk management, and long-term capital mobilization.
As a board member of EDF, Mark contributes practical expertise in structuring investment vehicles, developing export-oriented financial solutions, and aligning institutional strategies with national development goals. His experience is instrumental in guiding EDF’s efforts to unlock new markets, attract private capital, and strengthen Malawi’s export competitiveness.
Mark is a CFA Charterholder, a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA, UK) and holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Malawi. He has also completed executive development programmes, including the Management Advanced Program at Wits University.
