Robert E. Mdeza is an experienced executive with a diverse background in energy, finance, and corporate leadership. He currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of REAA Ltd, a Malawi-based company developing green energy technologies aimed at delivering affordable and sustainable energy solutions across Africa.
Robert previously held senior leadership roles in the oil and energy sector, including as CEO of Trinity Energy Ltd, where he expanded operations into crude oil trading, power generation, and upstream services. He was also the founding CEO of the National Oil Company of Malawi (NOCMA), where he led the organization from its inception and built its operational framework. His earlier career includes roles at Petroleum Importers Limited, Manica Malawi Ltd, and Mwaiwathu Private Hospital. He began his professional journey teaching taxation at the Malawi College of Accountancy and later worked as a Tax Consultant with KPMG in London.
As a board member of EDF, Robert brings practical experience in energy infrastructure, strategic partnerships, and private sector development. His insights will support EDF’s efforts to diversify Malawi’s export base, promote industrialization, and attract investment into emerging sectors such as renewable energy. Robert is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) and a senior member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (CA (Mw)). He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce (Accountancy) from the Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences (MUBAS), and currently serves as an independent resident Director on the Board of NICO Holdings Ltd.
