Mr Ben Makhela is an investment professional and business executive with over twenty years of experience in investment operations, financial advisory, and business consulting. He is currently an independent consultant and private investor based in Blantyre. Until April 2022, Mr Makhela was the Chief Executive of NICO Capital, a corporate and project finance advisory services firm and subsidiary of the MSE-listed financial services group, NICO Holdings Plc. Prior to joining NICO Capital, Mr Makhela was an Investment Executive at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group. He spent the formative years of his professional life at NICO Holdings Plc where he pursued an extensive career in finance and project management, culminating in the position of Head – Investments and Projects.
Mr Makhela earned an MBA degree in 2011 from Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK; and prior to that, qualified as a Chartered Accountant with CIMA and ACCA.
