Board Chairperson
Neil Nyirongo is a Consultant and Lecturer in Finance and Economics by profession. He worked for the Reserve Bank of Malawi from 1978, retiring in 2010 as Executive Director, Economic Services, responsible for Design and Conduct of Monetary Policy. Since retirement, he has been doing consultancy in Economics and Finance at Neil Nyirongo Consulting, a consulting company he owns.
He joined the Board of Directors membership of Export Development Fund in 2020 to date; Malawi Stock Exchange, 2021 to date; National Oil Company of Malawi from 2021 to date; Medhealth (Health Insurance Company, 2016 to date Cooperative Insurance Company from 2015 to 2022.
Nyirongo holds a PhD in Business Administration obtained from Columbia Commonwealth University Malawi (CCUM), 2011; a Master of Philosophy (M. Phil.) in Monetary Economics from Glasgow University, Scotland, 1990; a Bachelor of Social Science (B.Soc.Sc), Majoring in Economics and Mathematics from Chancellor College, University of Malawi, 1978.
Nyirongo is currently a member of Economics Association of Malawi.
