William Matambo is an accomplished professional who brings a wealth of experience especially in the areas of strategy, financial management, governance, risk management and compliance.
Before his appointment as the Managing Director of the Export Development Fund, Mr. Matambo was at the Reserve Bank of Malawi where he served in various portfolios including being an Advisor on Corporate Affairs, heading the directorates of Accounting/Finance; Internal Audit; and Strategy & Risk. Between 2015 and 2017, he was seconded to the Ministry of Finance where he served as the Accountant General.
Mr. Matambo is also accredited for the merger of the then Society of Accountants in Malawi and Public Accountants Examinations Council to create the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM) where he became its first President. He has served on several boards including the Malawi Revenue Authority, National Food Reserve Agency, NITEL among many others.
He holds a higher degree in Risk Management and is a Fellow of the Chartered Certified Accountants, a Certified Internal Auditor and an Associate Member of the Business Continuity Institute.

Chifuniro trained locally and internationally in accounting, finance, auditing and business management. He holds an MBA in Banking & Finance and a Bachelors degree in Accounting. A fully qualified Accountant and fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chifuniro is a Certified Public Accountant and Member of the Malawi Accountants Board as well as the Chartered Institute of Accountants in Malawi (ICAM). He is also a Chartered Banker with the Chartered Institute of Bankers in Scotland. Apart from these, Chifuniro has also received specialised training in a number of areas including financial markets; development finance; structured trade finance; credit & investment appraisal. He is a seasoned qualified accountant with extensive experience in assurance services, business advisory, operations, finance, accounting and taxation. Prior to joining the institution he worked with PTC Group Limited both in operations and finance departments, Graham Carr (Certified Public Accountants) and Indefund Limited. He joined the Export Development Fund in the year 2012 from Indefund Limited, also a Development Finance Institution where he served as Head of Finance & Administration and doubled as Company Secretary.

Edward proudly holds a Masters in Finance and Control from Amity University in India. He is also a qualified accountant of the Association of the Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and a member of Institute of Chartered Accountants in Malawi (ICAM). He has attended a number of worldly recognized courses in Banking and Lending in general within and outside Malawi. Edward joined Export Development Fund as a Head of Operations in May 2015 and is responsible for managing the credit portfolio of the Fund. Prior to joining EDF, he worked for NBS and FDH Banks for over 14 years in different capacities ranging from Credit Manager to Senior Manager for Person and Business Banking. During this period, he played a critical role in appraising projects, project monitoring and credit risk management as well as advising Entrepreneurs from various sectors. Edward is thus endowed with vast experience in credit management.
